Methuen, MA — James Angelone, 85, of Methuen passed away after a battle with cancer and heart disease on Thursday at his home. James was the son of the late Vincenzo and Antonetta (Marinelli) Angelone. He was born in Methuen and was a lifelong resident, educated in the Methuen School System. James was employed at Western Electric for 30 years in a variety of positions, retiring from the position of field layout operator.
James was known as a husband, friend, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and "Murphy" who would readily help with a project of any kind using his knowledge of what seemed to be everything. He loved attending any type of event that had a family member showing off a talent. He enjoyed debating politics, history, and cars; always with a genuine smile. Many knew him for his well-reasoned stock picks and advice. If you went to the beach with him, you undoubtedly were asked, "Do you want to take a walk to the black rocks?" His garden was full of fruits and vegetables from early spring to late fall. Jim was the man who never angered, always looked to lend a hand, and loved to give his friends a call for a long talk. He will be missed by all who were touched by his life.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years Therese (Paquette) Angelone of Methuen; his children daughters, Victoria Rogers of Methuen, and Ann Marie Vega and her husband, Ricardo of Newburyport, Mass.; sons, James Angelone, Jr. of South Korea, and Marc Anthony Angelone and his wife, Sabrina of Methuen. James is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Nicole Carbone and her husband, Nick of Methuen, Therese Rogers of Somersworth, N.H., Melissa Rogers of Derry, N.H., James Angelone III of Methuen, Antoinette Angelone of Methuen, Ricardo Vega of Newburyport, Katerina Angelone of Richmond, Va., Sebastian Vega of Newburyport, Isabella Vega of Newburyport, and Fiona and Portia Angelone, both of Methuen. He also leaves five great-grandchildren, Joshua Houreas of Somersworth, N.H., Arianna Angelone of Methuen, Makayla Bare of Derry, N.H., Holly Angelone and Judelise Carbone both of Methuen, and several nieces and nephews.
