Deerfield, NH — Elvira 'Vera' Bova, 88, of Deerfield, N.H., peacefully passed away at Community Hospice House on May 9, 2013, after a long illness.
Vera was born on February 26, 1925, in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of Alberto and Concetta (Faggiano) Cirella. She was a 1942 graduate of Lawrence High School and McIntosh School of Business in 1943. She married Frank Bova on August 18, 1946.
Prior to her retirement, Vera worked as a financial secretary at Kealey Farms in Salem, N.H. She was a loyal Red Sox fan and she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She also was an avid knitter, with socks being one of her specialties. The White Mountains in New Hampshire was one of her favorite places.
Surviving family members include her daughters, Donna (Bova) Smith of Manchester, N.H., and Elaine (Bova) Wilcomb and her husband, Harry, of Newcastle, Wyo.; and her daughter-in-law, Lynne (Lariviere) Bova of Nottingham, N.H. Vera is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Bova, and her son, Joseph Bova.
Vera's family would like to thank the staff at The Inn at Deerfield, especially Zach and Community Hospice House for their compassion and care, making Vera's last months happy and comfortable.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Thursday, May 23, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. with a Memorial Service to celebrate Vera's life in the funeral home chapel at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Inn at Deerfield, 34 Ridge Road, P.O.
