NORTH ANDOVER — Steven P. Caisse, 58, of North Andover passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at Holy Family Hospital.
Born in Warwick, R.I. and raised in Lawrence, Steve was the son of the late Margaret (Drolet) Caisse Barboza and the late Joseph Caisse. He was educated in the Lawrence school system and was employed at Craig Systems and United Plastic Fabricators.
Steve was happiest outdoors. He was an avid sportsman: enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and snowmobiling. In recent years, he found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and in his extensive garden. Steve was also known as a great handyman, able to fix almost anything.
He was an active member of the Lawrence Rod and Gun Club as well as Lawrence Elks Lodge 65.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ruth (O'Sullivan); a daughter, Kathleen (O'Sullivan) Morency and son-in-law Scott of Methuen; a son, Steven and daughter-in-law Kimberly Provencal of North Andover; grandchildren, Zachary, Kylee, and Brenna, all of North Andover; brother, Vincent Barboza and sister-in-law Linda of Plaistow; brother, Joseph of Amesbury; sister, Denise (Caisse) Falwell of Haverhill; sister, Ann (Barboza) Blanchard and brother-in-law John of Windham. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Steve was predeceased by his brothers, Donald Caisse, Lawrence Caisse, Arthur Caisse, and John Barboza.
ARRANGEMENTS: A wake to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m at Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St., Andover. Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Saint Patrick's Church, Lawrence, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 to be followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover.
