Bedford, NH — Bernice D. Newton, 90, formerly of North Hampton, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Bedford Hills Care & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 7, 1923, in Methuen, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lottie (Holdsworth) Parker.
Mrs. Newton graduated from Lawrence High School, and later worked as a mender in the Lawrence mills. She retired from Western Electric in Andover.
Mrs. Newton had made her home in North Hampton since 1981 and was the wife of the late John R. “Jack” Newton for nearly 60 years. He predeceased her in 2005.
Family members include her daughter, Jacqueline A. Daly of Nashua, two sisters, Lillian Sweezey of Hudson, Ruth Wilson of Hemet, Calif., four grandchildren, Jennifer, Donna, Kristin, and Catherine, four great grandchildren, Patrick, Steven, Avery and Tatum, nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A visiting hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in the Center Cemetery, North Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
