Lawrence — Barry S. Ord, 57, of Lawrence, died on Friday April 5, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Barry was born, raised, and was a lifelong resident of Lawrence. He graduated from Greater Lawrence Vocational School and attended Northern Essex Community College. Barry worked in the chemistry field with Life Technologies of Framingham. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish and was a former Little League baseball coach. Barry loved fishing and the ocean and enjoyed trips to Weirs Beach, N.H. He was an avid Boston sports fan and especially loved walking his best friend, his dog, Jefferson.
His family members include his wife, Frances M. (Ferrucci) Ord, of Lawrence and his sons, Patrick S. Ord of Plaistow, N.H., and Daniel R. Ord of Lawrence. He leaves his father, John D. Ord, of Lawrence and his brothers, John D. Ord of Lawrence and Richard and his wife, Denise Ord, of Methuen. He also leaves two sisters-in-law, Karen Ord of Methuen and Elena Sachs of Salem, N.H.; his father-in-law, Anthony Ferrucci, of Lawrence; as well as four nieces and a nephew. Barry was pre-deceased by his mother, Mary Ord, and his brother, Kevin Ord, a former captain on the Lawrence Fire Department.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Tuesday April 9, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, April 10, at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Lawrence. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover.
