Londonderry, NH — Richard “Rich” D. Alback, Sr., 41, of Londonderry, N.H., died Friday, April 5, 2013, after a short illness. He was a former resident of Lowell, Mass.
Rich was born Feb. 8, 1972, in White Sands, N.M. He is predeceased by his parents, David L. Alback and Ann (Zapatka) (Alback) Sherman, and his sister, Dawn M. (Alback) Roman.
He was educated in the Lowell Public Schools. He worked as HVAC mechanic for the Local 17 Sheet Metal Workers Union. He will be greatly missed and remembered fondly. He loved to laugh and spend time with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Maryanne (Matthes) Alback; son, Richard (Ricky) D. Alback, Jr.; and daughter, Hannah M. Alback, all of Londonderry, N.H.; his step-father, Joseph Sherman of Lowell, Mass.; two sisters, Meaghan (Alback-Pearson) Regan and Molly Alback-Pearson of Lincoln, Neb.; his uncles and aunts, Robert and Karen Zapatka of Hooksett, N.H.; Edwin and Lise Zapatka of Lowell; Richard and Joanne Alback of Omaha Neb., and Marvin (Toby) Alback of Billings, Mont.; his brothers-in-law, Ralph Matthes and his companion, Dianne Donavan, and Steven and Kim Matthes; his nieces, Jessica Matthes, Amanda Matthes and Emerald Donovan, all of Lawrence; and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and Family are invited to memorial calling hours and services at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen, MA, on Friday, April 12, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held during the calling hours at 7:30 p.m.
