Donald was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1967. He was a 20-year employee of the City of Lawrence in various departments, including the water department andn sanitation department, and was a heavy motor equipment operator. Prior to the City of Lawrence, Donald was an EMT for American Ambulance and A-Medic ambulance, during which time he met his future wife and soul mate, Brenda, in the emergency department. Most recently, Donald was employed by Home Depot, Inc., and The Gillette Company until officially retiring after his wife’s passing.

Donald’s greatest lifetime achievements were raising his five children. He was often referred to as “The Don” and was someone who could be trusted and relied on. He was a volunteer for the Trauma Intervention Program of Merrimack Valley, helping victims of crisis, alongside his wife and daughter, Lindsay, for many years. He put everyone before himself and took pride in carrying on his wife’s legacy.

Some of his hobbies were fishing, crossword puzzles, taking rides to the beach in his prized possession - his Jeep, going for coffee with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by the many friends and family who he loved and nurtured. Donald was the rock of the family; it was well known that his door was always open and his phone was always on. He was a father to many, aside from his children. He was the neighbor you could rely on; he was a true friend. His family is comforted by the fact that he has finally been reunited with his cherished, one true love… his wife, Brenda.
