Marie B. Yuele, 90

Haverhill — Marie B. (Walsh) Yuele, 90, of Haverhill, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a brief illness.

Born in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late, William J. and Ernestine L. (Bourque) Walsh. Marie attended grammar School and her freshman and sophomore years of high school in Portland. She was crowned “Miss Portland” in 1938. As the family relocated to Haverhill in 1939 she transferred to St. James High School and was a Graduate of the Class of 1940.

She met and married the love of her life, Joseph A. Yuele in 1945. With strong faith and living in the Acre section of the city, together they raised their children in St. James Parish.

Staring her career in the Shoe Manufacturing Companies in Haverhill, she would retire from the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, after close to twenty years of service as a Tax Examiner.

A self taught musician, Marie had a beautiful voice and played the mandolin. Along with her husband Joe, brother, Bill and sister in law, Marie, they formed a group known as the “The Notables”. Together they performed at many venues over the years and especially enjoyed entertaining for the elderly in local nursing homes. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan she cheered her teams on with enthusiasm.

The widow of Joseph A. Yuele, who died in 1977, she leaves four children; Marie Y. “Chickie” Wersoski, of Bradford; Domenic W. “Mickey” Yuele, of North Conway, NH; Joseph A. and Patricia Yuele, of Tehachapi, CA; and Patricia L. Rand, also of Bradford; three grandchildren; Stephen J. Wersoski and his wife, Chiara, of Bradford; Christine M. Mazzaglia and her husband, Mark, of Haverhill, and Joseph J. Rand, of Bradford; four great grandchildren, Victoria and Alexandra Wersoski, and Kaelyn and Mark Mazzaglia, and son in law, William F. Rand, of Haverhill, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, William T., and John R. Walsh, and a sister, Margaret P. Harrigan

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday from 5 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Saturday morning at 11:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 PM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill.
