Corradina Tropiano, 99


Windham, NH, formerly of Lawrence — Corradina (Cultraro) Tropiano, of Windham, NH formerly of Lawrence passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the age of 99 at the home of her daughter Mary Ann and son in law Timothy after a short illness.. She was born in Lawrence May 14, 1913 and was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Gaetana (Santuccio) Cultraro.

At the age of 7 her family moved back to Italy and at the age of 12 she returned to America by herself on the boat to live with her uncle and cousins. She started a life for herself by going to school, working and saving her money so that she could buy a house and sponsor her parents and siblings to return to America.

Mrs. Tropiano worked at the American Woolen Company back in the early 40’s and traveled by boat to Italy to marry her sweetheart Salvatore on October 26, 1947, who she had only met through letter writing. She stayed home raising her 3 children, being a wonderful wife to her loving husband Salvatore and a caring sister to her brother Concetto, who also lived with her. She returned to work at Bronzetti Clothing in Lawrence in the late 60’s as well as Lantham Clothing, retiring on April 19, 1978.

She lived on Everett St in Lawrence with her husband Salvatore, enjoying her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking everything from scratch, always homemade, baking her own bread, pizza and calzones. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to see her family in California and Toronto but most of all, she enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence and the Sons of Italy Lodge in North Andover. She will be forever missed by Tim and Mary Ann whom she has been living with for the past 6 years.

Mrs. Tropiano was pre deceased by her beloved husband Salvatore and her siblings Angelina Cultraro DiPietro, Josephine Cultraro Argier and Concetto Cultraro.

She is survived by her children Joseph Tropiano and his wife Jackie of Methuen, Francene Tropiano Madore and her husband Sidney of Raymond, NH and Mary Ann Tropiano Madore and her husband Timothy of Windham, NH; her grandchildren Matthew Tropiano, Rokia Madore, Chandra Madore and Cody Madore. There are also several nieces and nephews in Toronto, Canada and Pachino, Sicily.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM at the Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. Her Funeral Mass will follow visiting hours at 1:00 PM at St. Matthew’s Church, 2 Searles Road Windham, NH. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
