Lawrence — Rose (Tennerella) Garofalo, 90, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Berkeley Nursing Center. Rose was born in Lawrence. Rose was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Angelina (Candia) Tennerella, and was the widow of Salvatore Garofalo. Rose was educated in the Lawrence School system and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
Rose was married for almost 60 years to her loving husband Sam. Rose and Sam shared a wonderful life together and had a joyous time with family and friends. One of the things Rose loved most was spending her summer vacation at Salisbury Beach with her close family and friends. She always enjoyed herself in the sun, in the kitchen or even on the back porch.
Rose worked as a seamstress at William Barry Clothing for several years and later in life enjoyed staying home taking care of the family. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family. Rose was best known for her scrumptious Italian cooking and would always have something ready for someone no matter what the occasion. Rose loved having friends and family over and if you came to visit, you never left Rose's house hungry!
Rose spent her last 6 years under the remarkable care of the staff at the Berkeley Nursing Center. Her family would like to thank them for the compassion, kindness and comfort they showed to Rose, as they were her second family.
Rose is survived by her son Fred Garofalo and his wife Kristi of Woodsville, NH, her daughter Connie Baillargeon and her husband William of Salem, NH, her grandchildren Anthony Garofalo of Nashua, NH, Kim Glaser of OR, Lisa Krebs of CO, Nicholas Garofalo of GA, and Melanie Baillargeon of Salem, NH, and 8 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews.
