Haverhill — Mary P. (DiPietro) DelGrosso, 96, a longtime resident of Haverhill, died Tuesday September 18, at the Wingate at Haverhill.
Mary was born in Haverhill, October 25, 1915 to the late Liborio and Maria (Cieri) DiPietro.
She was educated in the Haverhill and Italian school systems and employed for many years in the local shoe industry as a fancy stitcher. Her family moved to Italy when she was six and returned to Haverhill when she was 15.
Mary was a member of the former St. Rita’s Church in Haverhill and its St. Rita Sodality.
She was the beloved wife of the late Marco DelGrosso and is survived by her son Anthony P. DelGrosso and his wife Patricia, of Haverhill; two sisters, Ann Russo and Edna DiPietro, both of Haverhill; four grandchildren, Donna Savoie and her husband Daniel of Charlton, Diana DelGrosso of Upton, Debra and her husband Glenn SanSoucie of Plaistow, N.H, and Kevin Smith and his wife Veronica of North Salem, N.Y.; six great-grandsons, Glen and Dominic SanSoucie of Plaistow, N.H., Colin, Gavin, Liam, and Quinn Smith of North Salem, N.Y., as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary was also the sister of the late Clinton and Domenic DiPietro.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 4-8 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 21 at 9 from the Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 at St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
