Margaret (Bourassa) Hickey, 83

Methuen, MA — Margaret (Bourassa) Hickey, 83, of Methuen, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, November 8, 2012 in the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.

Margaret, daughter of the late Donat and Marie (Bedard) Bourassa, was born in Wilmington on July 15, 1929 and lived in Methuen for many years. Margaret was educated in Wilmington schools and graduated from Wilmington High School, Class of 1949. Two years later, in 1951, she graduated from Tewksbury State College, class of 1951. Margaret was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working at the Tewksbury State Hospital in Tewksbury prior to her retirement.

Margaret was very active in her Bible Fellowship. She enjoyed bowling and playing BINGO. She especially treasured the time enjoyed with her family.

She will be sadly missed by her sons; William Hickey and his wife Gwendolyn of Florida and Paul Hickey and his wife Janet of Derry, NH; daughter Nancy Carace and her husband Andrew of Kingston, NH and Patricia Trudel and her husband Robert of Methuen; two sisters, Theresa Frederick of Andover and Lucille Tallini of Salem, NH; three brothers, Harry Bourassa of Shelburne Falls and Robert and Donat Bourassa, both of Wilmington, MA; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Samantha, Chelsea, Bridget, Jeremy, Jessica and Chloe and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Bourassa and her sister, Ann Crocker.

ARRANGEMENTS: Margaret’s life will be celebrated and lovingly remembered in a Funeral Service to be held in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Friends will be warmly received at the funeral home from 3-8 PM on Monday.
