Lawrence, MA — Charles A. Brooks, 56, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, Mass., passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Born in Lawrence, Charles was a graduate of St. Lawrence O'Toole Grammar School and St. John's Prep in Danvers, Mass. He went on to graduate from Merrimack College in 1978, majoring in both history and English. Charles had worked for the Internal Revenue Service for some 25 years.
He was the son of the late J. Kenney and Anne E. (Collins) Brooks, and brother to the late J. Kenney Brooks. He is survived by his life partner, Donald E. Sunnerberg, of Lawrence; brothers, Kevin K. Brooks and his wife, Linda, of Maui, Hawaii, and Sean M. Brooks of Lawrence.; and his nephew, Ryan Brooks of Montana.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 10 a.m., in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill St., Lawrence. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, July 22, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence.
