Merrimac, MA — William Dexter Wise, age 76, of Merrimac, died peacefully Friday morning, July 26, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Medford, January 18, 1937, son of the late Dexter L. and Marguerite J. (Farley) Wise, he was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1955.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Wise served from April 26, 1956, until his honorable discharge on August 25, 1960.
For many years, Bill worked in construction as a mechanic maintaining industrial elevators throughout the area.
His survivors include his beloved wife, Joyce P. (Murray) Wise of Merrimac; six children, William J. Wise and wife, Cindy, Pamela McCann, Richard J. Rogers and wife, Donna, and Paul, Mark and Steven Rogers; nine grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Samantha and Steven Wise, Eric McCann, and Joshua, Jacqueline, Veronica Mark, Amanda and Andrew Rogers. He also leaves behind two brothers, Richard and Bobby Wise; a sister, Margaret Perry; and numerous special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and James Wise.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment in Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac.
