Methuen — Chongtok Yim, 64, of Methuen, died on Friday, September 27, at Holy Family Hospital. He was born and educated in Seoul, Korea, and was the son of the late Wonkyu Yim and Toksun (Yum) Yim of Lawrence.
Chongtok came to this country in 1976, and was a resident of Lawrence and Methuen. He was the owner of a fish market in the Mattapan section of Boston for 25 years until his retirement in 2012. He was an avid golfer and a member of Crystal Springs Golf course in Haverhill. He also enjoyed gardening in his spare time, but his most enjoyable memories were made while spending time with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Young (Lee) Yim, of Methuen; his children, Jae Lee and his wife, Hey Yong of Seoul, Kristina Jenkins and her husband, James, of Hudson, Mass., Katie Mays and her husband, Chris, of Birmingham, Ala.; his grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Lee, Kendall Jenkins, Jacob, Rachael, and Timothy Lee. He is also survived by siblings, Suncha Preston and her husband, Donald, of Methuen, Sunhee Morrison and her husband, Kevin, of Chelmsford, Chong Kwan Yim and his wife, Ogkyeong, of Methuen, Sunok Yim of Seoul, Kate Yim of Raleigh, N.C., and Chong Hun Yim and his wife, Ji Young of Andover; and many nieces and nephews and in-laws.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Monday, September 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, with his funeral services to follow at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 p.m.
