Dorothy E. (Roberts) Panaro

Bradford — Dorothy Elizabeth (Roberts) Panaro, 84, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 30, 1929, in Haverhill. Dot was the youngest child of Elmer and Mary F. (Scott) Roberts. She grew up in Bradford and attended Haverhill Public Schools. She retired from Lucent.

Dot loved going to the beach, especially her weeks at Seabrook. But her happiest moments were gathering everyone for family and holiday dinners. Dot enjoyed cooking, she was an amazing “Irish” Italian cook, who learned from the best – her mother-in-law, Grace Panaro. She was an incredible baker, known for her pies. Whenever family gathered there was a request for “Grammie’s” apple pie. Dot was a devoted, selfless wife, mother and grandmother. The center of her world was Larry and her children.

She leaves her beloved husband of 66 years, Larry R. Panaro Sr., the love of her life; her daughter, Linda and her husband, Phil Paquette, of Worcester, Mass.; her thre sons, Larry R. Panaro Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Haverhill, Gary R. Panaro and his wife, Gail, of Bradford, and Mark J. Panaro and his wife, Karen, of Atkinson, N.H.; 11 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cristina, Matt, Lauren, Douglas, Andrew, Christopher, Ryan, Kevin, Jonathan, and Cameron; four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Hunter, Emily, and Jack. She was predeceased by her brother, Elmer “Bud” Roberts; and her three sisters, Eileen, Avis and Mary.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Greenleaf unit at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center for all the kindness and care they showed Dot during her stay, with a special thanks to Paul Proulx and Merrimack Valley Hospice for the guidance and comfort they provided during her final days.
