Lawrence — Josephine M. (Consoli) Sciacca, 93, of Lawrence passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the Nevins Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Lawrence, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Grazia (Tomaselli) Consoli.
Mrs. Sciacca was a graduate of Lawrence High School and McIntosh Business School. She worked for many years as a teacher's aide in the Lawrence School System, and spent her life caring for and raising her three children and five grandchildren. The family will treasure memories of Sunday dinners at Nanna Josie’s.
Mrs. Sciacca was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gaetano “Guy” Sciacca; and her siblings, Vito Consoli, Mary Auriemma, and Connie Carace.
She is survived by her son, Charles Sciacca and his wife, Therese, of Fremont, N.H.; her daughters, Francine Pappalardo and her husband, Thomas, of Salem, N.H., and Marie Nicolosi and her husband, Michael of East Hampstead, N.H.; and her grandchildren, Anthony Pappalardo of New York, Dina and Matthew Ivas of New York, Angela and Kyle Schwotzer of Londonderry, N.H., Bianca Nicolosi of East Hampstead, and Francesca Sciacca of Fremont; and nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Friday, October 18, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence. Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
