North Andover — Joanne (Strobel) Ritter, 81, of North Andover, died Tuesday at Academy Manor Nursing Center in Andover surrounded by her extended family.
Joanne was born in Lawrence on April 22, 1932, to the late Richard and Ella(Steinert) Strobel.
Prior to starting her family, Joanne was employed as a medical technician. More recently, she was employed at American Medical Surgical Supply and The Greater Lawrence Health Center.
The widow of the late Harold Ritter, who died on April 30th of this year, Joanne is survived by her daughter, Wendy Cooney and her husband, John, of Derry N.H., her three sons, Scott Ritter and his wife, Sherry, of Salem N.H., Chris Ritter and his wife, Carolyn, of Derry, N.H. and Tracy Ritter and his wife, Judi, of Freemont, N.H. Also among her survivors are her sister, Janice Quealy and her husband, James, of Chelmsford; sister-in-law, Margaret Strobel of Seabrook, N.H. and sister-in-law, Lillian Schwarzenberg and her husband, Edmond, of Methuen. Joanne is also survived by her seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard I. Strobel and her sister, Virginia Murphy.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
