Haverhill — Elizabeth (Chilpyian) Arakelian, 90, of Haverhill died on Wednesday evening, November 6, at Penacook Place Nursing Home, Haverhill.
She was born in Methuen on June 5, 1923, and was thedaughter of the late Daniel and Rose Chilpyian.
Educated in the Haverhill School System, Mrs. Arakelian graduated from Haverhill High School.
For several years, she co-owned and operated drive-in theaters in Haverhill and Salisbury, and also wrote for the Eagle Tribune and Haverhill Gazette.
She was the wife of the late Sarkes Arakelian, who died in 1996; mother of the late Arthur D. “Butch” Arakelian and Harry “Skip” Arakelian; and grandmother of the late Corey Arakelian.
Her survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Arakelian of Haverhill; a sister, Virginia Chilpyian of Andover; two grandchildren, Bruce and Poppy Arakelian; and three great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, at 1 p.m., at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer Street, Haverhill. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the funeral service on Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
