Jeannette D. (Jalbert) Francis, 95

HAVERHILL — Jeannette D. (Jalbert) Francis, 95, died on Saturday, February 22, 2014, in the Stevens Bennett Home in Haverhill. She was the wife of the late Harold F. Francis Sr.

Born on April 21, 1918, in Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (LeFleur) Jalbert. She had been a resident of Haverhill since 1918. She attended Haverhill schools. Jeannette worked as an assembler for the former Western Electric in North Andover for 13 years, until her retirement in 1983.

She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church for many years. Jeannette enjoyed knitting, golfing and taking long walks. She also loved to play cards with her daughter, Paula, when she came to visit her. The Francis family would like to thank the Stevens Bennett home and the Merrimack Valley Hospice for the wonderful care and respect their mother was shown during her time with them.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula L. and Eugene S. Jastrem of Londonderry, N.H.; her son and daughter-in-law, Harold F. and Sheila Francis of Groveland; three grandchildren, Colleen Duchmer and her husband, Jeff, of Haverhill, Eugene S. Jastrem III and his wife, Joyce, of Londonderry, and Kevin Jastrem of Superior, Colo.; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Caily, Andrew, Nicole, and Emily; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her twin sister, Mariette; and sisters, Anne, Ida and Doris; a brother, Henry Jalbert; and her grandson, James M. Francis, who died in 1981.

ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of Jeannette’s family, services will be privately held in the St. James Cemetery on Friday.
