Carol L. Pothier, 79

Haverhill — Carol L. (Pheil) Pothier, 79, of Haverhill, died Wednesday December 19 at Penacook Place, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Montclair, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late, Willis F. and Norma (Nickett) Pheil. In 1942 her family settled in Haverhill where she attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1951. For many years Mrs. Pothier was employed as a payroll clerk for the City of Haverhill Public School System, retiring in 1995. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, whether she was preparing a meal, or tending to her flower garden, Carol enjoyed nothing more than cherished time spent with her family.

The widow of Harvey M. Pothier Jr. who died in 1985, she leaves a son; Robert M. Pothier and his wife, Kathleen, of Haverhill; two daughters; Sharon Politz, of Goffstown, NH, and Mary Ellen Kaasila and her husband Sampo, of Plaistow, NH; nine grandchildren; Jennifer Mueller, Jaimee Pothier Michele Pothier Daniel Politz, Laurie Politz, Carrie Meagher, Peter Kaasila, Kathryn Kaasila, and Erik Kaasila, also four great grandchildren; Ava and Callie Mueller and John and Tess Meagher, two sisters; Nancy Boucher and her husband, Roland, of Haverhill, and Drucilla Dekeon, and her husband, George, of Bradford a brother; Richard Nansel and his wife, Patricia, of Bradford;, and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call TODAY, December 21, from 4 until 7 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made to the Patient Activity Fund of Penacook Place, 150 Water St. Haverhill, MA 01830.
