Windsor, CT — Edwin J. Curran died November 3, 2013, at home in Windsor, CT. Born September 18, 1925, in Pelham, NH, he was raised in Lawrence. The son of the late William P. and Helen (Moss) Curran, he entered the Navy in October of 1942 at age 17. He served four years and saw battle in Europe. He later joined the U.S. Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne. Leaving the service in 1951 he relocated to Hartford, CT.
The widower of Joan Morrissey Curran, he is survived by sons, John and Daniel Morrissey of Connecticut and five grandchildren; sisters, Mary G. Allen, Sheila and her husband, Bernard McCann, of Lawrence and Carmen and her husband, Michael Pawlik, of North Andover; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William; sisters, Helen and Patricia and brother-in-law, Joseph H. Allen.
A Mass was celebrated by his nephew, Rev. Shawn W. Allen, in Saint Joseph's Church, Windsor, CT on November 7 and burial was in Hartford. Arrangements were handled by Carmon Paquodock Funeral Home, Windsor, CT.
