Medford — Simon M. Tavitian, “Si,” 74, of Medford, and formerly of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, Melrose, MA. He was born in Haverhill, June 28, 1939, son of the late Mardiros “Martin” and Esther (Varjabedian) Tavitian.
Si was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill Trade School in 1957. He was employed at Hy-Liner Boat Co. of Ipswich for three years. Later, he worked for Thom McAn as an assistant sales manager.
Mr. Tavitian enlisted in the US Air Force in 1961 and served five years during the Vietnam era.
His survivors include his companion of 47 years, Josephine Mutch of Medford, aunt Helen Waldron of CA, cousins Sylvia, Barbara, Virginia, Joseph & Brenda Tavitian of Plaistow and Bradford, Osheen & Genevieve, Rita Soovajian, Edward & Gail Varjabedian of CT, nephew Martin Tavitian of N. Hampton, niece Naomi Merrill, Lancaster of NH, and several relatives and friends. In 2012, his brother Michael Tavitian predeceased Si.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service on Monday, November 18, at 11 AM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main Street, Bradford. Burial will be in Plaistow Cemetery, Plaistow, NH. Calling hours at the Bradford Funeral Home will be Sunday from 1 to 4 PM.
