Epping, NH — Della P. Ferris, 82, of Epping, and a longtime resident of Seabrook, died on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover.
Della was born on May 24, 1931 in Van Buren, Maine, and was the first born of nine children of the late Patrick and Bertha (Parent) Parent. She was raised and educated in the Greater Lawrence area and graduated from local schools.
With her late husband, George Ferris, Della owned and operated Broadway Motors in Lawrence, Mass., and Beach Auto Sales in Seabrook. In 1985, she was appointed Justice of the Peace in the State of New Hampshire, and served until 2005, marrying couples seeking to marry in New Hampshire. She was also employed by the IRS in Andover, Mass., for many years and eventually retired to enjoy family and prepare and organize family gatherings.
She is survived by her son, Roland Denault and wife, Nancy, of Epping; her daughter, Doreen Kelley and husband, Warren, of Hampton Falls; five grandchildren, Roland Denault and wife, Jennifer, of Newbury, Fla., Christopher Denault of Melbourne, Fla., Dawn Newman and husband, Brian, of Harrisonburg, Va., Patrick Kelley and Michelle of Seabrook, and Ashley Kelley of Hampton Falls; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Natalie Costa and husband, Gilbert, of Epping; brothers, Donald Parent and wife, Rochelle, of Spring Hill, Fla., Rudolph Parent and wife, Patricia, of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by husbands, Wilfred J. Denault and George J Ferris; two brothers, Delmar and Roland; three sisters, Claudette King, Jacqueline Mannion and Diane Calder.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m., on Wednesday, September 4, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home–Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation, starting at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hampton Falls.
