North Reading — Joan M. Scott, 71, of North Reading, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Winchester Hospital. Born in Methuen, MA on October 20, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Reginald E. and Margaret F. (Keating) Scott. Joan was raised and attended North Reading Public Schools and was a lifelong resident. She attended St. Theresa’s Church and the Trinity Evangelical Church. Joan was an active member of the Edith O’Leary Senior Center for many years.
Joan worked for twenty-nine years for the E.C. Mitchell Company in Middleton. She was a very generous, kind and caring person, with a great sense of humor.
Joan enjoyed spending her days with her many friends at the North Reading Senior Center. She liked wii bowling, playing bingo and skip-bo, among many other activities, like the beach and trips to Foxwoods.
Family members include her sisters, Linda Durning of North Reading, the late Patricia Morrissey and Barbara Ann Ryan. She was a loving Godmother and aunt to Patrick J. Brennan and his wife, Melanie, and their children, Courtney and Matthew, all of Methuen. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Monday, October 28, from 2 to 4 PM, followed by a collation at the O’Leary Senior Center, 157 Park Street in North Reading. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
