Mary Frances (DeCaro) Sheldon, 90


Methuen — Mary Frances (DeCaro) Sheldon, 90, of Methuen, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013, at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Rosario and Dominica (Scaccianoce) DeCaro.

Mrs. Sheldon was a graduate of Lawrence High School and McIntosh School of Business. She worked as a stitcher for Grieco Brothers and also worked for Lawrence Public Schools as an Assistant Reading Specialist.

She was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church and a member of St. Rita’s Sodality. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and Senior Center of Methuen. She loved being at the ocean, traveling and spending time with her family and many friends.

Mrs. Sheldon was predeceased by her husband, Everett D. Sheldon and her brother, John DeCaro.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Donovan and her husband, James, of Billerica, and Deborah Hughes and her husband, Charles, of North Andover; her son, Edward Sheldon and his wife, Peggy, of Gardner, MA; her brother, Raymond DeCaro of S.C. and her sister, Sandra Melnikas of CA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, November 3, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Academy Manor Activities Department, 89 Morton St., Andover, MA 01810.
