Georgetown — Evelyn Ruth (Snyder) Boose, 88, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2012 at her home in Georgetown. She was born on January 5, 1924 in Susquehanna, PA to the late Frank and Leona (Washburn) Snyder. She is survived by her husband, Emery F. Boose, children Emery R. Boose (wife Ann Lewis), Kathryn A. Boose, and Nancy L. Maguire (husband Tom), grandchildren Patrick J. Maguire and Sabrina D. Smith, as well as sisters Vera Haleski and Dora Burke.
Evelyn's lifelong passion was art and music. She taught herself to play piano as a teenager, attended Cornell where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, and donated time throughout her life to church music and education. She directed a Junior Choir for 40 years, started and directed a Bell Choir for 27 years, co-directed and played piano for an annual musical called "Broadway Bells" for 14 years, served as the Superintendent of Sunday School for 23 years, and was a 45-year member of the Women's Guild at the First Congregational Church. In recent years, she was an active member of the choir at the Community United Methodist Church in Byfield where she also enjoyed assisting with missionary activities.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on November 3, 2012 at the Community United Methodist Church in Byfield.
