Plaistow, N.H., formerly of Methuen — Henry J. Dupuiyo, 80, beloved husband of Claire (Bergeron) (Pappalardo) Dupuiyo died peacefully on Monday, October 29, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Boston on May 6, 1932, the son of Manuel and Dorilda (Binette) Dupuiyo. He was educated in Boston and moved to Lawrence in his late teens and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He began working at Morin’s Restaurant on Essex St. in Lawrence as a cook and became the take out manager where he created specialty sandwiches and lunches for over thirty years. He also worked at Stride Rite Shoe Company and retired from Lawrence General Hospital as a cook.
During his retirement he enjoyed many trips and had a passion for the enjoyment of his pristine landscape at his home in Methuen. In 2011 he and his wife moved to Plaistow, N.H.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Rita Carelli and his second wife, Pauline Theberge Giarrusso, his brother, Edward and his sister Aurelia Dodie.
He is survived by his wife, Claire; one daughter, Denise Doran of Florida; one stepson, Leonard Pappalardo and his wife Sarah of Jacksonville, Fla.; five stepdaughters, Louise DeFusco and her husband Frank of Atkinson, N.H., Cathy Samra and her husband David of Newburyport, Brenda Bakhtiari and her husband Mahmoud of Hampstead, N.H., Rhonda Callahan and her husband Kevin of Haverhill and Patricia Pappalardo and her significant other Matthew Schiavoni of Bradford. There are ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one half-brother, Eugene Paquett of Plymouth.
He was a long time parishioner at St. Matthew’s Church in Windham, N.H. and more recently at St. Anne’s Church in Hampstead, N.H.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday November 1 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
