Groveland — Paul Albert Cote, age 82, Groveland resident for 51 years, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Penacook Place in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Haverhill, he was one of thirteen children of the late Arthur and Irene (LaPlante) Cote. He was an alter boy at St. Joseph’s Church and attended St. Joseph’s School.
Paul served six years with the National Guard. He worked in the Lawrence woolen mills and worked 26 years at the Haverhill Paperboard. He retired from Raytheon, after which he volunteered for the Groveland Meals on Wheels. Paul was a member of the Groveland Fire Department for 23 years and had been a former member of the Haverhill Auxiliary Police.
His survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Maude (Hardy) Cote of Groveland; two daughters, Paula and husband Dave of East Baldwin, Maine and Linda of East Rochester, N.H.; four sons, Michael and wife Darlene of Kingston, N.H.; Alan and wife Cheryl of Haverhill and Jeffrey and Gary both of Groveland; four grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Loucille Fradette, Alice Feronette and husband Jerry and Bernadette Howard; four sisters-in-law, Joan Cote, Barbara Cote, Shirley Hardy and Thelma Morehouse, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra; four brothers, Armond, Raymond, Gilbert and Stephen and five sisters, Mary Rose, Lorraine, Anita, Theresa and Lillian.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Paul C. Rogers Family-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill, will be Friday, November 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill, followed by interment in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
