Thomas J. Sweeney, 80

Salem, NH — Thomas J. Sweeney, 80, of Salem, N.H., passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lynn and was the son of the late Edward and Lillian (Shanks) Sweeney.

Mr. Sweeney was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. He worked as an engineer for Avco Corporation in Wilmington and Varian Corporation in Danvers. He was a Korean War veteran and served with the U.S. Army. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Mr. Sweeney is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Arline (DeCristoforo) Sweeney; his daughters, Cheryl O’Hare and her husband, Jeffrey, of Salem, N.H., Carolyn Martin of Salem, N.H., and Cindy Malloy and her husband, Kevin, of Wellesley; and his grandchildren, Kristen, Michael, Nicole, Mark, Matthew, Kaelagh, Emma, Ryan and Madison.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH.
