Georgetown — Priscilla (Louise) Bradford Tenney passed peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, May 19, 2013, at the age of 79. She was the daughter of Walter S. and Evelyn (MacRae) Bradford. Born in Malden on February 2, 1934, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1952, and Whittier Vocational Technical Nursing School in 1976.
Priscilla is predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Henry A. Tenney; her sister, Joyce Mansfield; and granddaughter, Jill Marie Fowler.
She lived in Georgetown for all of her married life where she and her husband raised five children. She was a member of the Byfield Parish Church and served as the head of the Children’s Christian Education for many years, member of the Georgetown Chapter #176 Order of the Eastern Star, and actively participated in Georgetown Assembly #98 Rainbow for Girls with her daughters. She had many hobbies and talents including decorating beautiful cakes. Priscilla also worked for the Georgetown School System when her youngest child entered first grade. She returned to school herself in midlife to earn her LPN and enjoyed working at Seaview Retreat until her retirement. Henry and Priscilla became snowbirds and escaped many New England winters living on their boat in Florida where they made many close friends.
Priscilla will be greatly missed by those that she leaves behind: her brother, Walter Bradford and his wife, Betty, of Tewksbury; her children, Minda Fowler and her husband, Gary, of Georgetown; Dawn Ambrey and her husband, Tom, of Edmonds, Wash., Stephen Tenney and his wife, Wendy, of Barrington, N.H., Allyson Hall and her husband, Steve, of Newton, N.H., and Henry Tenney II of Georgetown; as well as 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers who treated Priscilla with such compassion through her final months and to Merrimack Valley Hospice.
