Boulder, CO — Elizabeth Proctor Romeo, 95, of Boulder, died Wed. Feb. 6, 2013 at Frasier Meadows Manor Health Care. Elizabeth was born Aug. 25, 1917 in Waltham, MA to Percy M. and Mildred B. (Smith) Proctor. She graduated from Patchogue High School, Long Island, NY followed by her Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, New York, NY. in 1934. Elizabeth married Edward A. Romeo, a high school classmate in 1946.
She taught nursery school and kindergarten for 25 years in Patchogue, NY and Andover, MA. After the death of her husband in 1981, Elizabeth moved to North Andover. She travelled extensively and attended many Elder Hostel programs around the world. She later moved to Bartlett, New Hampshire, then to Boulder, CO. Elizabeth played the violin, taught English as a second language as a volunteer in Lawrence, MA, and enjoyed scrapbooking and family history.
Survivors include her son, Richard E. (Karen) Romeo, Boulder, CO; Daughters, Priscilla R. (Ralph) Harrison, Andover, MA and Margaret R. (Tom) McAllister, Bartlett, NH, along with 10 grandchildren.
Elizabeth will be buried with her husband Edward at Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. A private family gathering is planned for the summer.
