Methuen — Howard F. Richardson, 66, of Methuen passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 5, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Howard was born in Lawrence on December 25, 1946 and was the son of Howard C. and Doris V. (Hatton) Richardson. He was a graduate of North Andover High School. Prior to his retirement he worked for Ford Motor Company as a Warehouse Supervisor.
In 1966 he married Joyce Beeley and enjoyed 46 years of marriage. They enjoyed raising their children, traveling together, and dining at his favorite restaurant, The Village in Essex. Howard was an avid fan of NASCAR. He also dabbled in oil painting. His greatest pleasure came from his talent for home remodeling and building to enhance his home or the homes of his family. He took great pride in improving his surroundings.
Howard is survived by his wife, Joyce; his son, David and his wife, Candice Richardson; his daughter, Debra and her husband, Jeff Spurr. He was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Kayla Sanborn, Lindsay, Zackary and Lauren Richardson. Howard is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Hildebrandt and several nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his mother and father and his sister, Brenda Hall.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and relatives are invited to call on Sunday, March 10, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery.
