LITCHFIELD, Maine — Linda M. Bourassa, after a 6-month battle with stomach cancer, passed peacefully at home with family by her side on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011. She had previously resided in Salem, N.H. for 35 years, raising her family. Linda was born on Aug. 5, 1949, in Lawrence, to Joseph Bistany and Claire Beaulieu Bistany.
Linda is survived by her mother, Claire Bistany of Salem, N.H.; her aunt, Toshie Beaulieu of Salem, N.H.; her husband of 41 years, John (Jack) Bourassa of Litchfield, Maine; sister, Shirley Bistany of Salem, N.H.; brother, Kent Bistany of Abington; sister-in-law, Karen Fowler of Salem, N.H.; daughter-in-law, Shannon Patel of Salem, N.H.; children, Michael Bourassa of Derry, N.H., Stephen Bourassa and wife Debra Green Bourassa of Plaistow, N.H., Kristy Bourassa and fiance Robert Estes of Londonderry, N.H.
Linda had six grandchildren: Jade and Vaughan Bourassa of Plaistow, N.H., Seattle and Noah Bourassa of Salem, N.H., Kyle Boardman and Jacklin Estes of Londonderry, N.H. Linda's loving in-laws are Richard and Joanne Bourassa of Bowdoin, Maine, Russell and Patricia Bourassa of Methuen, and Jeffrey and Terrie Bourassa of Pelham, N.H. She also leaves several (12) nieces and nephews and their children. She was an extremely important part of all of our lives and will be forever missed.
ARRANGEMENTS: Cremation was performed in Augusta, Maine. A memorial service for friends and family will be held on Sunday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. at St. David's Episcopal Church, 231 Main St. (Route 97), Salem, N.H., across from Salem Public Library.
