Shirley (Murchison) Nyberg Daigle, 72

Lincoln, Maine and Atkinson, N.H. — Shirley Daigle, 72, passed away September 27, after a valiant battle with Lung Cancer at Colonial Healthcare Nursing Home. She was born in Lincoln on February 25, 1940, the daughter of Howard Theodore and Leona Veste (Ireland) Murchison.

Shirley was a computer technician for Lucent Technologies for 27 years before her retirement in 2001. She also worked at Lincoln Pulp and Paper for 9 years. Shirley touched the hearts of all who knew her and you couldn’t help but love her sense of humor which she maintained until the end. She always put others before her and would help anyone in need.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Patty and Bob Brochu of Bangor; grandchildren, Kylie Ramsey of Bangor, Cody Ramsey of Greenfield, Nick Brochu of Houston, Texas; great-granddaughters, Lydia Husson and Hayden Eisentrager; sisters, Polly and Sam Porter, Donna and Dwinal Daigle and Jodie Stockley; brothers, Reggie Murchison, Dwight and Clarice Murchison, Maynard and Cecile Shute and sister-in-law, Judy Murchison. Numerous nieces and nephews, which includes the three “Hard Cider Jokers”. She is also survived by the father of her daughter Richard Nyberg and her two special friends Sandi Guilfoyle and Joanne Puglielli. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Jimmy Ireland, Lawrence Murchison and Clayton Murchison; and by sister-in-laws, Ardis Ireland, Judith Murchison; and brother-in-law, Kent Stockley. Shirley would like to thank Dr. Sheila Pascual, her nurse Treasa Moore, Mary White, and all the nurses at Cancer Care for their care during her treatments and greatly appreciated all they did for her in treating her like their own mothers. She would also like to thank Nurse Jill Bouchard, Linda Boyce and Julia from Hospice and the nurses and staff at Colonial Healthcare.

ARRANGEMENTS: At Shirley’s request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Monday October 8 at the Lincoln Cemetery on West Broadway in Lincoln, Maine, with the Rev. William Chesley officiating. Reading, formerly of Lawrence — Helen D. (DeFusco) Rickley of Reading, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Pasqualina (Miele) and Alexander, and her sister, Evelyn. Helen had a beauty of character and personality that was noticed by everyone she met. She devoted her life to raising and loving her family. She also devoted a good part of her life to her parish church and the elementary school children of Reading at Pearl Street and Killam Schools. She served as a volunteer teacher’s aide at the two schools for almost 30 years. She served at St. Athanasius in the old Arts and Crafts group and sang in the church choir for almost 35 years.

Atkinson, NH — Charliene P. Moore died May 16, 2013, in Pleasant Valley, N.H., after a long illness from cancer. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., on Aug. 16, 1945, daughter of the late Pearl and Charles Moore. She grew up in Everett, Mass., and graduated from Malden High. Charliene worked at the IRS for 20 years and for Securitas Services where her security assignments included stints at Sweetheart Plastics, Hewlitt Packard and Global Insights. She fought a long, hard battle with cancer and through it all loved her co-workers and friends. Charliene is survived by her longtime companion, Linda McAdams of Atkinson, N.H., and “Mac,” her furry little friend.
