Methuen — Bernard Brown, 91, of Methuen, died on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Methuen Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Brown was born in Lawrence and was raised and educated in Methuen. He has lived in Methuen all of his life.
He served with The U.S. Naval Reserve during WWII and saw action in the South Pacific. Bernard worked as a machinist in the textile industry, and in more recent years, he was employed by Frudenburg Industries of Lowell. He retired in 1989.
He was an active member of The Methuen Senior Center and was a member of The American Legion Post 122, Methuen. He was also an attendant of New Hope Methodist Church, Methuen.
Mr. Brown was the brother of Audrey Sarfde, Marilyn Coolidge and Robert Brown, and also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Friday, July 5, from 9 to 11 a.m., at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., on Friday, at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
