Blanche Mistal, 98


Lawrence — Blanche E. Mistal, 98, died at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home on July 4. She was the widow of Edwin J. Mistal and mother of the late Marlene Saalfrank. She was also the sister of the late Jeanne Marceau, Edna Phetteplace, Theresa Timmons, John Gurka, Stanley Gurka, Matilda Miller, and Louis Gurka.

Blanche was born and educated in Lawrence. She worked in the Ayer Mill for many years, and retired from I. T. T in Lawrence. She was a communicant of St Patrick’s Parish.

She will be deeply missed by the nieces that she helped raise, Jean M. Grieco and Paula C. Hardacre.

She will also be greatly missed and leaves behind many memories to one granddaughter; two grandsons; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Blanche's godchild, Jean Marie Vitas, made sure that Blanche was comfortable in every way whether Jean Marie was local or in Florida. Also, her sister Lisa took over for her mother while her mother was in Florida.

The family thanks all of the caregivers at Mary Immaculate who took extra special care of Blanche.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are welcome to call at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover, Mass., from 8 to 10 a.m., on Wednesday, July 10. A funeral Mass will follow in St Patrick’s Church, Lawrence, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
