Salem, NH — Phyllis J. (Cote) McCarthy, 82, of Salem, NH, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Nevins Nursing Home, Methuen, MA. She was born and educated in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Margaret (Bousie) and Alphonse Cote. She lived in Salem for 50 years. Phyllis worked at Mivilles Bakery in Lawrence, MA, with her father. She was a nurse’s aide at Mary Immaculate Nursing Center in Lawrence. Phyllis delivered “Meals on Wheels.” She enjoyed cake decorating and watching TV. She was predeceased by her husband, John W. McCarthy.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Carol and her husband, Brian Greenfield, of Salem, Joann and her husband, Alan Proulx, of Salem, Susan and her husband, Frank Lowe, of Salem and Phyllis McCarthy of Salem; her son, John McCarthy and his wife, Cheryl, of Georgia and her brother, John Cote of Methuen, MA; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.
