Haverhill — Irene (Trundy) Giampaolo, 75, of Haverhill, died Tuesday, April 16, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in Glenburn, Maine, August 16, 1937, daughter of the late Robert and Laura (Beatty) Trundy.
Educated in the Bangor school system, Irene graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1955, and was a member of the National Honor Society. After high school, she served and trained in the U.S Navy as a radio operator. Irene was employed at the IRS in Andover for over 30 years and also performed tax details in Washington, D.C. After retirement, she worked at Haverhill Cable Company and as a poll worker for the City of Haverhill. She enjoyed the friendships of many there. She was an avid traveler and will be missed by many and remembered for her generosity, witty personality, and quick humor.
Irene was predeceased by her son, Danny, in 1984 and her brother, Robert, in March 2013.
Her survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth McCabe and husband, Brian, and Jo Delia Giampaolo and fiancée, Jim; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou McKinnon and husband, Charles; and her dear friend, Elaine Stockwell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
