Haverhill, MA — Francis “Frank” Michael Strykowski, 63, died June 12, 2013, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass., after a period of failing health.
He was born August 22, 1949 in Haverhill, Mass., son of the late Michael J. and Stella F. (Rucidlo) Strykowski. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael “Mickey.”
Frank was a lifelong resident of Haverhill, Mass. In his youth, he attended St. Joseph Grammar School and later graduated from Haverhill High School. Frank served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971 in the 11th Armored Cavalry, specializing in using the Howitzer Battery.
Mr. Strykowski worked for many years as an electrical engineer/tester at the Vicor Corp. in Andover, Mass.
Frank was a proud nine-year member of the Lawrence Elks 65. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed doing photography, playing billiards, and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ida (Villers) Strykowski; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Matt Belfiore, and Melinda and Michael Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Amanda Strykowski; 3 grandchildren, Callum, Michael and Olivia; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Marcia Strykowski and Tom and Irene Strykowski; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 72 Elm St., North Andover, Mass.
