Lawrence — Frances M. (Aiello) Cascio, 67, of Lawrence passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014, at Massachusetts General Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Frances was born and educated in Lawrence, and has been a proud, lifelong resident of the city. She was the daughter of late Joseph and Josephine (Bellia) Aiello.
Frances took pride in living a hardworking, honest and kind life. She made an impact on all those she came across, including the many children she taught as a special education teacher’s aide at the Bruce School. Her love of children and of teaching was evidenced in the wonderful stories former students would share.
Most importantly, Frances valued her family. Her most precious accomplishment was sharing her life with her husband and raising four children to be as kind, honest and hard-working as she and her husband were. She never needed, or wanted for much aside from peace and happiness for her family.
Frances is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Matteo Cascio of Lawrence; and her loving children, Lisa M. Cascio and her partner ,Shawna McCloskey of Lawrence, Matthew Cascio and his wife, April Garvey of Aldie, Va., Lori A. Morris and her husband, Jonathan, of Methuen, and Kristina Garcia and her husband, Michael, of Lawrence. She had five beautiful grandchildren, Brady and Gavin Morris, Sonny and Nico Garcia, and Payton Cascio, who brought her much joy. Frances is also survived by her sisters, Irene LaPlante of York, Maine, and Nina Cascio and her husband, Gandolfo, of Lawrence, and their children, Marc and Jaclyn Cascio. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Thursday, February 20, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday February 21, at 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Parish in Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Interment will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
