N. Andover and Aloha, OR — Robert H. Ela of North Andover and Aloha, Ore., passed away peacefully on June 7, at Providence St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born October 8, 1938, in Lawrence, Mass., to the late Raymond and Edith (Campbell) Ela. Robert resided in North Andover until joining the U.S. Marine Corps, and he served almost 15 years, spending two tours of duty in Vietnam during the conflict.
He attended Portland Community College and Portland State University.
He worked for Leupold and Stevens in Beaverton, Ore., for 24 years until his retirement in January 2005.
Robert is survived by his wife, Kamolratana Ela; his sons, Timothy and Kerri Ela of Charlotte, N.C., Anthony Ela of Aloha, and Robert and Heather Ela of Scappoose; his daughter, Danielle and Justin Boylan of St. Helens; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Dr. Jonjit Chantharasamee of Bangkok, Thailand, and Wichaya Chantarasamee of Aloha.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be no calling hours or memorial celebration. The family suggests donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
