Vincent O'Keefe, 93

Methuen, MA — Vincent R. O’Keefe, 93, died on June 13, at Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center, after a short illness. Born in Lawrence, Mass., he was the son of the late John O’Keefe and Isabella (Boxendale) O’Keefe. Vinnie lived for many years on Tower Hill in Lawrence and also lived in Methuen.

Vinnie worked for many years at Manzi Dodge in South Lawrence, and also at Rockingham Park in Salem, N.H., as a jockey’s agent. He loved Rockingham, and spent lots of time enjoying his many friends, and watching the races at the track. Vinnie also enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had a lifelong love of cars and continued driving until he was 92 years old. He was very active and loved to walk, and could be seen walking through Methuen and Lawrence, often miles from home as he got his daily exercise. He will be deeply missed by his entire family and his many friends.

Vincent was the husband of the late Eunice (Hartnett) O’Keefe, and father of Bernard O’Keefe and his wife, Susan, of Las Vegas, Nev., Dorothy Silverwatch and her husband, David, Cynthia Sprance and her husband, Tracy, Janice Hughes and her husband, John, and Vincent O’Keefe, all of Methuen. He leaves nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving companion of many years, Loretta Dispensa of Winchester, Mass.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 20, at 9 a.m., at St. Francis Church in Dracut, Mass. Memorial donations may be made to Cor Unum Meal Center, 191 Salem St., Lawrence, Mass.
