Atkinson, NH — Peter T. Giuvelis, 89, of Atkinson, N.H., passed away on Monday, June 17, at Salemhaven, in Salem, N.H. He was born in Lowell on September 15, 1923, to the late Theodore and Virginia (Melonas) Tzouvelis. Peter was raised and educated in Haverhill, graduating from Haverhill High School. Upon graduating, he served in the U.S. Army during WW II. After serving in the military, Peter co-owned and worked as a technician for Guvelis Bros., located on Emerson St. in Haverhill. In retirement, Peter served as school crossing guard at Walnut Square School in Haverhill.
He was a member of the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, serving on the board and as past president.
He was the husband of the late Pagona (Karambelas), who passed away in 1998. He is survived by his son, John and his wife, Michelle of Atkinson, N.H.; his daughter, Eva Neofotistos of Bradfor;, two grandchildren, Denise Giuvelis of Biddeford, Maine, and Stephanie Neofotistos of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral on Friday morning, June 21, at 10 a.m., from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m., at the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St., Haverhill. Interment with military honors will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
