Juan Colon Vidal, 65

Lawrence — Juan (Pichy) Colon Vidal, 65, of Lawrence, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on June 22 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Juana Diaz, P.R, and was the only son of the late Juan Colon & Luz Maria Vidal.

Juan loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed watching his son and grandchildren playing baseball. He also was a voracious collector of music. Juan enjoyed vacationing and spent a lot of time in Puerto Rico and considered the Dominican Republic a second home.

He was raised and educated in Juana Diaz, P.R, and moved to Lawrence in 1969. He worked for Raytheon for 27 years and stopped due to illness.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Livia Colon of Lawrence; his son, Juan Javier Colon and his wife, Meredith Colon of Methuen; his daughter, Livia Janelle Lyons and her husband, John Lyons of Lawrence; sisters, Carmen Lidia Colon and Luz Gladys Colon of Puerto Rico, and Clara Colon of Ohio; his grandchildren, Remy, Jailyn, Julian, and Jenisis; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, particularly Milagros Cid of Lawrence; and a long extended family. Juan was the brother of the late Juanita Colon of Connecticut.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, June 25, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St,. Methuen. His funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in St Mary’s- Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
