Methuen — Ann L. (Davis) Rivanis, 66, of Methuen, formerly of Lowell, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.
A daughter of the late Joseph J. Davis and the late Mary S. (Shymonowicz) Davis, she was born on August 13, 1947, in Concord, Mass. She was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School, Class of 1965, and was also a graduate of the former State Teachers College with a bachelor's degree in history.
She made her home in Pelham until 1997, when she relocated to Methuen, where she made her home until her death. She valued time spent with her family, especially with her son, Leal. In her younger days, she enjoyed reading. As an animal lover, she had volunteered at the Methuen M.S.P.C.A. for the past 15 years. She also enjoyed collectibles, especially comic books and toys.
Ann worked as a contract administrator for ABT Associates for more than 30 years, before her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Leal S. Rivanis of Bristol, N.H.; his father and her former spouse, Daniel J. Rivanis of Bristol; her sisters, Helen Kalil and her husband, Dr. Joseph Kalil of Methuen, and Mary Richardson of Randolph; an aunt, Frances Berlied of Acton; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: You are invited to her visitation on Friday, April 11, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland St., Lowell, 978-458-6816. Her prayer service will be held at 3 p.m., at the beginning of the visitation at the funeral home.
