Deerfield Beach, FL — Richard J. Macleod, 77, formerly of Lowell, passed away in Deerfield Beach, FL, on April 5, 2014.
He was the husband of Joan M. (Santos) MacLeod with whom he would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in August.
Born in Lowell, MA, on October 19, 1936, he was a son of the late John and Catherine (Harrington) MacLeod. He was predeceased by his son, John M. MacLeod, who died in 2011.
Richie was a graduate of Lowell High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and retired from Salem Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #138 in 1998.
His family and friends were the center of his life and his friendship and laughter will be remembered and missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Joan M (Santos) MacLeod of Deerfield Beach, FL; daughter, Kathleen and son-in-law, Patrick Byron of Lawrence, MA; his siblings, Marion MacLeod, Elizabeth Nelligan, John and Connie MacLeod, Thomas and Rae MacLeod, Paul and Molly MacLeod; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours in celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 10, from 9 to 11 a.m. with a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, MA 01863.
