Groveland — Nikita T. “Nick” Comeau, 67, of Groveland, passed away Monday, April 7, at his home.
He was born in Haverhill, January 27, 1947, son of the late J. Norman and Eva (Dielendick) Comeau.
Nick graduated from Pentucket Regional High School with the Class of 1965 and was employed for over 30 years in the engineering department at Borden Chemical. He was also employed for a brief time at Brooks School and Chesterton from where he retired.
Mr. Comeau enjoyed boating, kayaking, fishing, gardening, and dancing. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. While neighbors, friends, and acquaintances were the primary beneficiaries of his talents, Nick lent a hand wherever he saw a need. He had the special ability to think of others before himself and always with a smile. Everyone needed a Nick.
He is survived by his companion and best friend, Margaret “Peg” Smithers of Groveland; two sons, Nikita “Nik” Comeau Jr. and his wife, Mary of Wimauma, Fla., and Brad Comeau of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Kimberly of Massachusetts; a sister, Jay Norma Tryon of Wilbraham, Mass.; a brother, Joseph N. Comeau Jr. of Rudy, Ark.; Peg’s children, Chad and Amy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, April 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 114 Center St., Groveland. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
