Hampton, NH — Sheila M. Young, 74, of Hampton, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover.
She was born in Lawrence, MA, February 19, 1940, the daughter of the late Leonard J. and Helen J. (Moran) Young.
She was a graduate of Lawrence High School with the Class of 1957, Plymouth State College in 1961 and received her master’s in education from Salem State College in 1964.
Ms. Young taught elementary education at the A. B. Bruce School in Lawrence for 30 of the 32 years of her teaching career. She retired in 1993.
A summer resident of Hampton since 1952, she moved here permanently in 1979. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, the Lawrence Teachers Union and the College Club of Greater Lawrence.
She is survived by several cousins and close friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: The funeral will be held at 8:45 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Burial will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
