Katherine T. Ruggiero, 88

Andover — Katherine T. Ruggiero, of Andover, Mass., and New Port Richey, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in New Port Richey, Fla. Katherine was born on December 19, 1925, in Methuen, Mass. She was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Theresa Bruno. She was the widow of Raymond F. Ruggiero, who passed away in 2005.

Katherine was educated in Methuen schools. She was employed as a floor lady at Hytron Corp. in Newburyport, Mass., and also as a floor lady at Lesand Shoe in Haverhill, Mass. She was a bowler on the Pleasant Valley Bowling League, and an avid sewer. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her sister, golfing, and playing bingo in Florida with friends. She was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church.

As a loving wife, sister, aunt, and great-aunt, Katherine valued her relationships with everyone. She is survived by her brother, Henry G. Bruno and his wife, Elizabeth, of Methuen, and their son, her nephew, Michael H. Bruno of Andover. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn M. Rigoli. She also leaves her niece, Jo-Ann Ouellette and her husband, Ronald P. Ouellette, of Methuen; and her special needs nephew, Joseph Rigoli, to whom she was devoted, and who affectionately called her “Lucille.” Katherine also leaves two great-nephews, Evan J. Ouellette and his wife, Lisa, of Melrose, Mass., and Jason M. Ouellette of Haverhill, Mass.; and two great-great-nieces, Audrey and Alison of Melrose; and many dear friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: At Katherine’s request, there will be no visiting hours. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for her Mass of Christian burial on Monday, April 14, at 11 a.m., at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

The Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
